Community Fire Jam

May 21, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Join us for the next Community Fire Jam of the season!

REGISTRATION TO SPIN FIRE AT THIS EVENT IS CLOSED! Missed the deadline or not a fire spinner? Bring your day and glow props and jam with us anyway! All are welcome to ENJOY~

***Be sure to read the entire event description if you plan to burn!***
Fire spinners of all skill levels are encouraged to attend, as are those who don’t plan to spin fire but would like to watch and/or play with LED or day props.

Everyone who ~spins fire~ at these events is required to register at least 8 days in advance (see form below) and complete our orientation/safety training once per calendar year – that means everyone who attends this event will need to complete orientation!

We ask all attendees to wear a mask while checking in at the front desk, standing in line at the fuel depot, and while fueling your prop, regardless of vaccination status. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and making this event possible!

Location: Gasworks Park, in the covered area next to the restrooms
There are bathrooms available at the park.
Time: Check in starts at 6:30, Fire Circle opens at 7:00 and goes until ~9:45pm! The park closes at 10:00.
Orientation will happen at 6:45 and ~8:00.

PLEASE DONATE TO SUPPORT THE FUTURE OF THIS EVENT!
We believe artistic expression should be available to all, which is why all of the events we produce are donation based and free to attend.
That said, each fire jam we produce costs between $350-700. Seattle Flow Arts Collective is a nonprofit that runs solely on donations from our community. Your financial support is deeply appreciated and helps us keep these events burning.

Suggested donation is $5-35.

Payments can be sent via PayPal at https://paypal.me/seattleflowarts, via our donation page at www.seattleflowarts.org/donate, or in person using Venmo or cash.

IF YOU PLAN TO SPIN FIRE:
*Register in advance: *Make sure you fill out our Google form 8 days before the event!* That means by midnight on Friday, March 18th. This is required by the Fire Department for our permit so there is no wiggle room! We can’t let you spin if you don’t sign up! HERE IS THE LINK: Registration for this event is closed.
Orientation: We ask that everyone who burns completes our fire safety & event orientation once per calendar year. We host an orientation twice at each event, at 7:00 and 8:30. This is the first event in 2022 which means everyone who burns will need to complete orientation.

Dress to Impress… And Not Catch on Fire: Make sure to wear natural fibers or fire retardant treated clothing. Cotton, leather, & denim are all safe bets. Leave the synthetics, feathers, and fur at home. Spin barefoot at your own risk!

Volunteer: We need your help to keep the show running! When you check in at the front desk on the day of the event, you’ll be asked to pick a volunteer shift with either the Sign-in Desk, Fuel Depot, Fire Safety, or Set-up/Tear-down Crew. Thank you in advance for supporting your community in this way! ❤

– Maintain a respectful distance from people who aren’t part of your household.
– Please stay home if you have any symptoms of COVID or have been recently exposed to someone who is sick.
– Use hand sanitizer and sanitize props between use if sharing.
– Be mindful of people’s various comfort zones and vaccine statuses by asking about people’s boundaries – especially before hugging or touching others.
